Radio Ad - Grandpa's Flag
Keith: Two years ago, we lost a hero in our family—my father, a WWII Navy veteran. He sailed into a war-torn world and came back with stories that shaped who we are today.
(faint sound of waves and a distant ship horn)
Pete: For years, Grandpa gather with other veterans, swapping stories and memories over a slice at Franco’s Pizzeria every Wednesday. They called it the “Geezer’s Lunch” – their weekly ritual to honor their service and each other.
Keith: Today, none of those men are left, but their legacy stands strong. We’ve kept my dad’s flag, the one that flew on the USS Bushnell, raised proudly in our store. It’s a reminder of where he was and who he became for us.
(emotional pause, gentle swell in music)
Pete: This Veteran’s Day, we want to remember more than just one man. We honor every soldier, every sailor, who has left their mark on our country.
Keith: That’s why we’ve hung that flag in our Waldon store, as a tribute to all the veterans who serve and sacrifice for us. Their courage deserves our deepest respect, every day of the year.
Pete: To every veteran, thank you for your service, your strength, and your sacrifices.
Amanda: This Veteran’s Day message is brought to you by Millspaugh Furniture. Remembering the past, honoring the present, and celebrating freedom for all.
